history......

Once known as Thermal-Gard "America's #1 Replacement Windows", Thermal-Gard Building Products, Inc is now under new ownership and is a strong competitor in the new construction market.

The Cornerstone of Thermal-Gard was laid in 1947, a year that would be the beginning of unprecedented leadership in the replacement industry.

In 1972, Thermal-Gard introduced America's first vinyl-clad, aluminum, thermal-break replacement window. Thermal-Gard quickly earned a reputation as an innovator in replacement windows hence our slogan
"America's #1 Insulated Replacement Window."®

The public was demanding conservation in 1977. Thermal-Gard responded by introducing the Energy Bill Reducer - a triple insulated glass window. This innovative change created major savings in heating and air-conditioning bills for our customers.

By 1982, Thermal-Gard was offering double hung, sliders and casements- and now picture windows, bows, and bays. The demand for our products was running high, and we met that challenge with the most complete line of windows in the industry.

In 1993, we introduced the Conserver™ Sliding Patio Door. Designed with beveled returns, elegant brass hardware, a six-point, multi-point locking system and many other energy savings features. Our door adds style, maximum comfort and security to the home.

1994 brought the addition of the Specialty Shape windows to those offered by Thermal-Gard. Our Specialty Shape windows allowed our customers to retain their uniquely beautiful window areas. Thermal-Gard special shape windows are custom built for customer's homes and feature superior insulating properties for all climates.

The Defend-Door TM steel replacement door was introduced early in 1995. Vinyl-clad, steel door offering security, energy-efficiency and beauty colors, it features a multi-point locking system as standard and offers features that make it up to five times more energy efficient than wood door/ storm door combination.

Thermal-Gard diverged from it's core windows and door manufacturing and got into the patio room business by introducing the Thermal-Gard Patio Room in 1996, again expanding the line of quality products offered by Thermal-Gard.

1997 marked twenty-five years of quality and innovation for Thermal-Gard. To start the year, Thermal-Gard announced its move into true Warm Edge Technology by offering the world's only structural spacer and introducing the Home Protection System featuring Super Shield.

In January, 1998, Thermal-Gard launched production of UV-Gard™ , it's line of brown windows. Double hung, slider and casement windows, as well as patio doors, are the featured products of the innovative UV-Gard family.

Forever on the leading edge of technology, Thermal-Gard introduced the welded corner casement windows in early 1999. An alliance was formed with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's, Energy Star® Program. Energy Star® Windows Program is voluntary partnership between the U.S. Department of Energy and the window industry to Educate consumers about energy efficient products with the best thermal performance. As a participating Energy Star manufacture. Thermal-Gard's windows carry the official Energy Star Label and NFRC Label.

Throughout Thermal-Gard's history, there has been a sense of achievement, advancement and innovation that will continue into the next century. Thermal-Gard currently maintains distributors throughout the United States, to truly make it "America's #1 Insulated Replacement Window."

The latest changes to be made to the Thermal-Gard plant were in 2004. With new ownership and  management now called, Thermal-Gard Building Products., Inc.  the company made its first entry into the New Construction Industry. The new 500-600 series window and door line was released and proved itself to be a competitor in the field.  Shortly after, the Conserver Security Series was introduced with a new improved self locking window.
